A native of Rockford, Illinois, and a graduate of Auburn High School, Steven Whitmore focuses his practice on Divorce, Family Law and Juvenile Law matters. He joined Shriver, O’Neill & Thompson as “Of Counsel” in May 2014 and brought his Family and Juvenile solo practice with him.
Prior to focusing on Family and Juvenile Law, Mr. Whitmore gained extensive experience in civil litigation from his prior work as a medical malpractice attorney, and earned his employment and civil rights law experience with reputable local firms.
Since devoting his time to family and juvenile law, Mr. Whitmore has worked with numerous people helping them through Juvenile Court and in Divorce Court. He has also represented individuals in various administrative proceedings, including DCFS Expungement and Service Appeals, unemployment appeals, the IDHR and at the EEOC.
Mr. Whitmore is a graduate of the Northern Illinois University College of Law and is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois. He resides in Rockford with his wife and four children.
